Location

Pu Luong Nature Reserve is situated in the Ba Thuoc and Quan Hoa Districts, approximately 130km northwest of Thanh Hoa City Center. It lies just 150 km from Hanoi. Surrounding the region are Mai Chau, Tan Lac, and Lac Son, located in Hoa Binh Province.

Transportation

While public transportation from Hanoi to Pu Luong is limited, the best way to reach this destination is by private car or motorbike. If you prefer using the bus, you can take the Hoang Phuong Bus from Giap Bat Bus Station in Hanoi to Muong Lay, and then continue your journey with a local taxi for approximately 20 km to reach Pu Luong.

Best time to visit

Characterized by a tropical monsoon climate, Pu Luong enjoys moderate weather, even during the sweltering summer months. The ideal time to visit Pu Luong is in May, June, September, and October. May and June mark the beginning of the local rice crop, covering the area in lush green, while September and October offer the romantic vista of golden rice fields during harvest season.

Thai ethnic village: Scattered throughout Pu Luong Nature Reserve are authentic villages and houses of the White and Black Thai communities. Visitors can interact with locals, explore their thatched stilt houses, and immerse themselves in their vibrant culture.

Thac Hieu Waterfall: Flowing from the heights of Hieu Village down to the hillside, Thac Hieu is one of the most popular attractions in Pu Luong. Nature enthusiasts flock to this serene location to cool off, unwind, and capture stunning photographs of the waterfall.
