Today, at the highest peak of Hon Khoai Island, you can find a historic lighthouse built by the French in the late 19th century. It was here that a revered figure, Pham Ngoc Hien, led a group of prisoners in a successful uprising against the French overseers of the island, eventually taking control of the lighthouse. This remarkable feat is still celebrated in local lore. From this vantage point, visitors can use telescopes to observe one of the five surrounding islands known as Hon Doi Moi, which resembles a tortoise swimming gracefully in the sea. Moreover, you can also gaze through the telescopes to catch a glimpse of the Cape of Ca Mau, providing a rare opportunity to witness its beauty from a distance. A visit to Hon Khoai offers chances to experience sights that are otherwise difficult to encounter!
