Vung Tau Map

Vung Tau is renowned for its stunning beaches and the nearby Con Dao archipelago, which was infamously known for one of the most brutal prisons in Southeast Asia. As of 2025, Vung Tau is comprised of 6 districts: Chau Duc, Dat Do, Long Dien, Tan Thanh, Xuyen Moc, and Con Dao. Vung Tau was established as a separate city from Dong Nai Province in 1979. The journey from Ho Chi Minh City to Vung Tau by bus typically takes around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic conditions and the chosen route.
