Guitar and Koto Duo to Cast a Spell on Vietnamese Audiences

Aki & Kuniko, the acclaimed Japanese guitar and koto duo, will deliver a special performance on Sunday 8 July in Ho Chi Minh City and on Monday 9 & Tuesday 10 July in Hanoi.

In their first ever tour in Vietnam, Aki & Kuniko will perform standout tracks from their two critically acclaimed albums, HA – AKI & KUNIKO in 2003 on the German label Acoustic Music Records and Over the Top, back in 2006.

The Ho Chi Minh City concert will take place at Youth Cultural Palace, 4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, District 1 and the Hanoi concert at Vietnam National Academy of Music, 77 Hao Nam Street, Dong Da District. Admission is free in Ho Chi Minh City and tickets in Hanoi can be collected for free at Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam, 27 Quang Trung Street, Hoan Kiem District.

Formed in 2002, the interesting duo has brought their unique world sound all over Japan and around the globe, from Europe to the United States, including the main stage of Open Strings, the world’s largest acoustic music festival held in Germany. Their musical partnership is praised for having “original, genre defying work” and the ability to seamlessly go from forceful to delicate to melodic.
