2 Day 1 Night Itinerary

Day 1: Cai Be - Vinh Long

Meet at My Tho Tourist Pier at 11:30 AM and embark on board L’Amant just in time for a delicious lunch while getting acquainted with the crew as the ship sets off towards Cai Be. In the early afternoon, guests will board a local sampan for a scenic tour through Cai Be’s floating market, navigating through the numerous arroyos to experience the tranquility of the Mekong Delta.

During the excursion, visit an ancient colonial house and a rice popcorn factory, sampling the local delicacies. Return to the L’Amant and set sail for Vinh Long while enjoying the captivating sunset from the sundeck. The boat will anchor near Vinh Long (after My Thuan Bridge) for the night. Dinner will be served on board, followed by a screening of the film "L'Amant" or "Indochine". Overnight accommodations will be on board.

Day 2: Vinh Long - Sa Dec

Following breakfast, the boat will head towards Sa Dec. Upon arrival, check-out will take place before transferring to a local boat to explore the charming town of Sa Dec, celebrated for its vibrant flowers and bonsai plants, and known as the childhood home of French author Marguerite Duras.

Visits will include the ancient house of Huynh Thuy Le, referred to in Duras’ novel "L’Amant", a Chinese temple, and the tomb of L’Amant. A pass by the school where Marguerite’s mother taught and the home she shared with her children will also be included. Conclude the visit around 11:00 AM, strolling through the bustling market streets of this delightful town.

3 Day 2 Night Itinerary

Day 1: HCMC - Cai Be - Vinh Long - Sa Dec

Check-in is at 9:30 AM in the lobby of the Sofitel Hotel. A coach transfer will take you to Cai Be in the heart of the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, board L’Amant for a luxurious lunch while familiarizing yourself with the crew as the boat journeys towards Vinh Long.

In the afternoon, embark on a small boat towards An Binh Islands. Once there, enjoy exploring by bike, visiting the Tien Chau ancient pagoda and tropical fruit orchards while discovering local life in the Mekong Delta. Afterward, enjoy traditional dishes at a local home.

The night will include anchoring near Sa Dec. Dinner aboard the L’Amant will be followed by a screening of a well-known film (either "The Lover" or "Indochine") before retiring for the night on board.

Day 2: Sa Dec - Cai Be

After breakfast, guests will explore Sa Dec, rich with flowers and bonsai plants, and a backdrop in Marguerite Duras' childhood. The itinerary includes a visit to Huynh Thuy Le's ancient house, a Chinese temple, and the tomb of L’Amant. Guests will also pass by Marguerite’s mother's school and her childhood home, offering a glimpse of her past.

Before returning to the boat for lunch, take time to wander around the vibrant market streets. In the afternoon, enjoy a cooking demonstration highlighting local ingredients and dishes or relax on the sun deck as the cruise returns to Cai Be.

Day 3: Cai Be - HCMC

After breakfast, guests will check out at 8:00 AM and board a local sampan to sail through Cai Be’s floating market. Experience the calm and natural beauty by rowing through various channels, visiting an ancient colonial house and a rice popcorn factory to sample local specialties. Once your tour concludes, you will return to Ho Chi Minh City via coach.

5 Day 4 Night Itinerary

Day 1: HCMC - My Tho - Cai Be

Meet at 10:30 AM in the lobby of the Sofitel Hotel. After a short drive, arrive in My Tho, the gateway to the Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, board L’Amant and enjoy lunch while getting acquainted with the crew. After lunch, embark on a riverboat for a voyage through the hidden treasures of the Xep canal and the surrounding islands filled with tropical fruit gardens.

A thrilling carriage ride led by small horses will take you through captivating farming villages, where you can enjoy delicious local fruits and tea sweetened with natural honey.

Continue on a sampan boat through charming canals. Dinner will be served, and you'll spend the night on board L’Amant.

Day 2: Cai Be - Vinh Long - Sa Dec

Start your day with breakfast aboard the ship before taking a local sampan to enjoy the floating market at Cai Be and further exploring the Mekong's serene arroyos. Taste local specialties at an ancient colonial house before returning to L’Amant for lunch.

Afterward, a small boat will take you towards the An Binh Islands and continue your tour by bike to visit Tien Chau ancient pagoda, experience the local orchards, and discover daily life in the Mekong Delta. Anchorage will occur near Sa Dec.

Day 3: Sa Dec - Chau Doc

After lunch aboard L’Amant, sail towards Chau Doc. In the afternoon, guests have the option to enjoy a cooking demonstration and taste local Mekong fruits while relaxing on the sun deck until anchoring at Chau Doc. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be on board.

Day 4: Chau Doc

In the morning, a small boat will take guests to explore the vibrant floating markets of Chau Doc, the border city with Cambodia. These early morning markets bustle with numerous sampans distributing fresh produce like fruits and vegetables.

Visit a floating fish farm designed for exports and a mosque situated in a Cham village nearby. In the afternoon, head to Sam Mountain, a notable pilgrimage site that encompasses temples of various cultural backgrounds including Chinese, Cham, and Khmer. Conclude your day with a farewell dinner and overnight on board.

Day 5: Chau Doc - Phnom Penh

After breakfast, disembark and head by speedboat towards the Cambodian border, completing necessary customs formalities along the way. Continue your journey into Phnom Penh, expected to arrive by early afternoon.
