Kin Lau No Festival

In the language of people in the North-western regions of Vietnam, Kin Lau No means to celebrate the appearance of the bamboo sprouts.

The Kin Lau No Festival continues to be a vibrant celebration marking the onset of the new harvest. This event is held by various ethnic groups, including the Mang, Khang, Xinh Mun, La Hu, Kho Mu, and Phu La.

Scheduled for the early part of the rainy season, the festival coincides with the appearance of the first bamboo sprouts on the ground. These sprouts are symbolically linked to the commencement of the new harvest, prompting local communities to organize the festival to express gratitude to the deities for their protection over the villages. Additionally, participants seek blessings for a fruitful harvest and a peaceful life.
