Tan Long Stork Garden

One of the many off-the-beaten-path attraction, Tan Long Stork Garden deserves all your attention, if you still wonder what a typical Mekong Delta landscape looks like.

From Nga Nam township, where the famous Nga Nam floating market is located, follow provincial highway 42 for approximately 5 kilometers until you reach Tan Long Stork Market. You also have the option to rent a canoe to explore the river and visit the nearby gardens.

Remarkably, the garden was initiated and is lovingly maintained by a local man named Huynh Van Muoi. Over the past 42 years, he has dedicated his life to creating a sanctuary where Vietnamese white storks can land, coexist, and reproduce. At the center of the garden stands a 10-meter high viewing tower that offers breathtaking views over the expansive garden.

In addition to the rich bird-watching opportunities, visitors can enjoy traditional music performances and savor authentic Southern Vietnamese dishes at Tan Long Stork Garden. This family-run ecological reserve is an ideal addition to a trip to the Nga Nam Floating Market, making it a perfect morning excursion or leisurely lunch stop.
