Ao Chau Pond in Phu Tho

This unique site has been gaining increased popularity recently. Located approximately 50 km from the Phu Tho district and 70 km from Viet Tri city, Ao Chau Pond is now recognized as a promising attraction in the land of the Hung Kings.

Ao Chau Pond is situated in Ha Hoa district. The location is easily accessible; visitors can reach it by car, train, or boat, depending on their preference. If you opt for the train, Ao Chau Pond lies right on the Hanoi - Lao Cai line, which has been expanded to enhance connectivity with other regions and the Van Nam province in China. Alternatively, for those traveling by car, National Road 2 remains the best option connecting Hanoi to various northern provinces. For a more adventurous route, travelers can easily access boats on the major rivers like the Red River, Da River, and Lo River.

Ao Chau Pond spans an area of 2 km², featuring around 100 islands of various sizes, each hosting a diverse array of valuable and beautiful flora. The highest point amidst these islands reaches 177 meters above sea level, while some areas plunge to depths of 35 meters, ensuring a continuous supply of water. The waters of Ao Chau are consistently fresh and clean, supporting a variety of aquatic species including the rare Golden Turtle and several species of Trionychid turtles. In recent years, local farmers have cultivated numerous types of healthy fruits, further enhancing the charm and appeal of Ao Chau Pond.
