Archeological Values
Research at this site began in 1925, focusing on around 200 stone pieces of various sizes and shapes. Currently, the largest stone is believed to be Hon Bo (with "Bo" meaning father in Vietnamese), measuring about 15 meters (approximately 49 feet) in length and 6 meters (about 20 feet) in height. The unique arrangement of these stones, along with the images inscribed on them, has drawn the interest of many researchers. These images depict a variety of subjects, including human figures, flowers, stilt houses, and symbols that remain undeciphered to this day. Additionally, the field features stones symbolizing eternal love, known as Wife-Husband stones, which represent couples who overcame challenges to be together. According to historians, these stones are believed to signify the transformation of a devoted couple into two stones facing each other after their passing. Other stones were thought to bear spells aimed at warding off threats, such as large tigers that once endangered local villages.
