This road stretches 860 meters, commencing at Hai Ba Trung Street and terminating at Doi Cung Street. It features a one-way section leading from Hai Ba Trung Street to Hanoi Street, while the remaining parts of the road are open to two-way traffic. Tran Cao Van was established in the 19th century and initially named Avenue de la Légation, translating to "Embassy Boulevard." Following 1945, it was renamed Amiral Courbet, and in 1956, it received its current name, Tran Cao Van, which remains in use today.
