Like June, July is also the month of frequent rains and wonderful tropical fruits. The pouring rains that never last for all day give tourists chance to go out for sight-seeing though might dampen your time there once in a while.

The July shares the same temperature level (from 24 to 33 degree Celsius) and similar humidity (83%) with both the previous and next month. Though the temperature is quite high, the weather in July somehow cools down thanks to frequent rains. However, tourists are still advised to use sun cream and wear long clothes to protect their skin from negative effect of hot sunshine in dry days. Meanwhile, umbrella and raincoat should be taken along always to prevent ones from getting wet due to sudden pouring rains.

Travel Tips for HCMC in July

For the ones who visit Ho Chi Minh City these days, it would be a great pity not to taste some specialties of the tropics like durian, dragon fruit, rambutan, and magosteen. Tourists can purchase various kinds of fresh fruit which are sold along the streets by vendors or in big open-air markets at reasonable price. Besides, foreigners should drop by Nguyen Canh Chan Street to taste the unique mixed fresh fruit dessert which is much preferred by Saigon’s youngsters. The tasty dessert at very cheap price (about US$0.7/ fruit plate) is worth trying at least once. In a nutshell, July is not a really good time to visit Ho Chi Minh City due to rainy weather.

However, if you travel to the city this month, you should spend time in fruit markets or visit fruit orchards in nearby provinces to taste the flavor of the tropics.
