University of Danang was founded on 4 April 1994 as the integration and re-organization of four institutions, including Danang University of Technology, Danang University of Foreign Language Education, Quang Nam – Danang College of Education and Nguyen Van Troi Technological School. It is now one of the top-quality and largest university systems in central Vietnam, offering a wide range of programs in education, commerce, technology and design. The university is also a key scientific and technological center focused on research, technology transfer, consultation and solving regional development challenges.

At present, University of Danang has over 50,000 students enrolled in undergraduate, postgraduate and non-formal programs. The academic staff includes 905 lecturers (including 200 professors and associate professors), supported by 433 administrative staff. The university attracts a growing number of international students and has seen a 30% rise in international enrollment in recent years, with over 500 full-time foreign students currently studying. In the future, University of Danang plans to expand and enhance its quality to become a leading regional university.
