Radio The Voice of Vietnam is the official national radio station, operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Information and Communications in terms of broadcasting, frequencies, and transmission. This is the largest as well as the most popular radio station in Vietnam, with a broadcasting range covering the entire territory of Vietnam and millions of regular listeners. Moreover, the coverage of VOV extends beyond Vietnam’s borders to Southeast Asia, Africa, Europe, and America.

Serving as the voice of the Vietnamese government to the people, VOV currently plays various roles across different fields. These include disseminating policies and government orientations, news reporting, education through programs on languages, science, and culture, entertainment for leisure purposes, and guidance on specific topics such as traffic. Most programs produced by VOV are in Vietnamese, but there are also ethnic language programs (VOV4) in Khmer, H’Mong, Ede, Bana, Thai, or Sedang for minority communities, as well as foreign language programs (VOV5) in English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, German, Lao, or Thai to serve foreign communities, especially in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Ninh Province, and surrounding areas.
At present, VOV is developing a wide range of media products, including:
- Traditional and online radio programs: These are the main products of VOV with diverse channels in various areas including VOV1 (News and Politics), VOV2 (Culture and Society), VOV3 (Music, Information, and Entertainment), VOV4 (Radio for ethnic communities), VOV5 (Radio for foreigners in Vietnam), VOV6 (Radio for overseas Vietnamese), and VOV-GT (Traffic).
- Visual radio: VOV currently provides VOVTV, which is broadcast from 6:00 AM to 12:00 AM on the cable TV system of Vietnam Television (VTV).
- Online newspaper: VOV also operates an online newspaper on its homepage (http://vov.vn/) featuring news and information in a wide range of social areas.
