Where is Pu Nhu Waterfall?

Pu Nhu Waterfall is located in Pu Nhu village, La Pan Tan commune, Mu Cang Chai district, Yen Bai province. The waterfall originates from the streams flowing through the forests of Lao Cai and Son La provinces. It is approximately 10 km from the center of Mu Cang Chai district and around 310 km from the center of Hanoi.

How to get to Pu Nhu Waterfall?

By private car/motorbike

From Hanoi, you can begin your journey at Thang Long Bridge, following Highway 37 or 70 to Mu Cang Chai. After arriving, drive approximately 10 km west on Highway 32. You will need to walk across a small stream and through cornfields to reach Pu Nhu Waterfall.

The best way to explore Yen Bai is by motorbike. If you drive a car to Mu Cang Chai, you can rent a motorbike for between VND 100,000-200,000 per day for easier travel.

By bus

You can take a bus from My Dinh Bus Station to Mu Cang Chai with various departure times. From there, continue your journey by motorbike to get to Pu Nhu Waterfall.

Best time to visit

The weather around Pu Nhu Waterfall is pleasant year-round, with the highest temperatures reaching around 26 degrees Celsius. The best times to visit are during the ripe rice season from September to October and the pouring season from May to June. If you enjoy a cooler atmosphere and wish to see the waterfall at its most vigorous, the summer months of May to June are ideal.
