As of 2025, Giac Vien Pagoda is 175 years old, making it one of the oldest pagodas in Ho Chi Minh City. Following significant restorations over the years, it has successfully preserved its original architectural features, including wooden columns and the traditional yin-yang roofing pattern.
In keeping with traditional Asian architectural principles that emphasize harmony, the layout of Giac Vien Pagoda is meticulously arranged according to Buddhist cosmology. The main structure consists of two interconnected buildings, each supported by four columns. The front building functions as the grand hall, while the rear serves as both a living area and a lecture hall. Within the pagoda, visitors can find 153 statues, with many dating back to the 19th century.
