Cha Ca Street

Used to be known as Hang Son (Paint Street), it was later renamed to Chả Cá thanks to the fame of Doan family in making the world famous fish dish.

Used to be known as Hang Son (Paint Street), it was later renamed to Chả Cá thanks to the fame of Doan family in making the world famous fish dish. The restaurant at number 14 has continued their forefather’s tradition since the early 20th century. It is now both a famous restaurant and a popular attraction of Hanoi. The fish is carefully selected and pan fried at your table, served with noodle, dipping sauce, roasted peanuts and a selection of herbs.

The street is narrow yet always crowded with people searching for Hanoi cuisine. Opposite to the Cha Ca La Vong restaurant is a good place to try Banh Cuon. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed whatever you try.
