Cha Ca Street

Used to be known as Hang Son (Paint Street), it was later renamed to Chả Cá thanks to the fame of Doan family in making the world famous fish dish.

Formerly known as Hang Son (Paint Street), this vibrant location has been rebranded to Chả Cá, owing to the renowned Doan family, famous for their exquisite fish dish. The restaurant located at number 14 has maintained this family tradition since the early 20th century. Today, it stands as both a celebrated dining spot and a prominent attraction in Hanoi. The fish is meticulously sourced and pan-fried at your table, accompanied by noodles, a flavorful dipping sauce, roasted peanuts, and a variety of fresh herbs.

The street, while narrow, is perpetually bustling with locals and tourists alike eager to experience authentic Hanoi cuisine. Across from the Cha Ca La Vong restaurant, you can find another culinary delight: Banh Cuon. No matter what dish you choose to sample, you can be confident that your taste buds will be thoroughly satisfied.
