As the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is one of the two central hubs for flight in and out of the country. Hanoi receives flight internationally but the majority of flight comes from East and Southeast Asia such as Hongkong, Thailand, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. There is also direct flight from London to Hanoi, Paris to Hanoi and Frankfurt to Hanoi operated by Vietnam Airlines.
There is not only an abundance of international flight but also domestic flight to provinces in the North (Dien Bien), Central (Vinh, Hue, Danang) and South (Dalat, Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc). Operating these routes are 03 airlines: Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific and Viet Jet Air.
Hanoi's airport is called Noi Bai and the new terminal T2 has just opened at the beginning of 2015. It is located about 40km from Hanoi, accessible via either Thang Long Bridge or Nhat Tan Bridge. It takes about 40 minutes to get from the airport to the city center (see transfer information).
