Braised Fish with Coconut Milk

Ingredients
- 1lb fish fillet, trout or haddock
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
- 1 red chili.
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 4 ounces coconut milk
Preparation
- Heat oil in a pan and gently fry the fish until golden brown.
- Add fish sauce, ground black pepper, chopped chili, and coconut milk to the pan.
- Simmer for 30 minutes over low heat, allowing the fish to cook fully and the coconut milk to reduce significantly.
- Carefully remove the fish fillets and place them on a serving dish. Sprinkle with additional pepper for garnish.
This dish is best served with steamed rice. If you have a clay pot, it's ideal for cooking and serving this recipe, as it enhances the flavors.
