Pencil drawing exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City
The solo exhibition entitled Gần by artist Mac Hoang Thuong, featuring his 22 pencil drawings on white canvas, will open from 7 to 21 June at Cactus Contemporary Art, Ho Chi Minh City.
What sets the exhibition apart is the interwoven of pencil marks which create realistic artworks full of humanity as well as surrealist portraying the deepest human’s philosophies. Also on display are condensed portraits which are enlarged on white canvas background that create a fascinating world of people.
Mac Hoang Thuong, born in 1976, has exhibited in South Korea, Australia and Thailand. He also earned a merit in Phillip Morris Art competition in Vietnam. With bold, confident and almost freestyle-like strokes, Mac creates abstracts effortlessly with amazing textures. His first exhibition in Vietnam will be at Cactus Contemporary Art, 17/12 Nguyen Huy Tuong Street, Ward 6, Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City.
