2012 Southern Land Cuisine Festival is taking place at Dam Sen Cultural Park in Ho Chi Minh City from 25 to 27 May.
50 food and beverage businesses from 20 provinces in the Middle and South of Vietnam participate in this event, exhibiting their most unique dishes at 90 booths provided by the organizers. Each booth is decorated differently to express featured elements of regions that the booth operators come from.
The most attractive part of this year festival could be the competition of reputable chef from different regions to struggle for title of “Southern Delicious Food” and “Fruit-vegetable Sculpture”. Numerous cultural activities including folk games and art performances are also expected.
Southern Land Cuisine Festival is an annual cultural event in Ho Chi Minh City held by Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism; HCMC Tourism Association and Phu Tho Travel Company. The main purpose of this event is to create a place for Southern and Central communities to show their elite in cuisine and to introduce their diverse culture to the public.
