Thai Airways Baggage Allowance
Carry On
Thai Airways follows a standard carry-on baggage policy similar to those of major airlines worldwide. Passengers are allowed a maximum weight of 7kg, with total dimensions not exceeding 115 cm. In addition to the carry-on bag, passengers can bring items such as purses, laptops, mobile devices, entertainment gadgets, medication, umbrellas, and hats on board.
Check-in Luggage
Thai Airways utilizes two primary policies for checked luggage: the weight concept and the pieces concept. Under the weight concept, the maximum allowable weight for checked baggage is 20kg for Economy Class, 30kg for Business Class, and 40kg for First Class. Should passengers exceed these limits, additional baggage charges will apply at the airport. The pieces concept allows passengers to bring 2 pieces of luggage, with a limit of 23kg each for Economy Class and 32kg for Business and First Class.
Infants are permitted 10kg of luggage and one collapsible stroller, pushchair, or infant-carrying basket.
Special Baggage
- Golfing equipment allowance includes a maximum of 14 golf clubs, 12 balls, and 1 pair of shoes. If the equipment weighs 15kg or less, a flat fee of $40 applies for travel within Asia, and $80 for longer distances.
- Bicycles, diving gear, and water skis are counted towards normal weight allowance, and excess baggage fees may apply.

Inflight Meals
For passengers who enjoy Asian cuisine, Thai Airways remains an excellent choice. Flight attendants, elegantly dressed in orchid purple uniforms, are attentive and ready to serve beverages. Despite many airlines cutting costs on short-haul flights, Thai Airways has upheld its reputation by offering an impressive selection of authentic Thai dishes. Be sure to try the delectable mango tart or refreshing tamarind juice as a snack or dessert.
However, some meals may be on the spicy side, and certain desserts like coconut-based treats can be quite sweet. It's best to be prepared for the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia!
