New tourism bus route to debut in Ho Chi Minh City next month

A bus route connecting major tourist attractions in downtown Ho Chi Minh City will be launched on September 15 by Ho Chi Minh City Transport Department.

A bus route connecting major tourist attractions in downtown Ho Chi Minh City will be launched on September 15 by Ho Chi Minh City Transport Department.

 
Bus, numbered at 127, will depart from Ben Thanh Bus Station, opposite to Ben Thanh Market and September 23 Park. It is a few minutes walking distance from the “westerner quarter” on Pham Ngu Lao Street in District 1 – casually named so for its concentration of hotels and foreign eateries.
 
The route is 9.8 kilometers (6 miles) and takes 35 minutes to complete. Stops are located near significant attractions, such as Reunification Palace on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, Saigon Zoo, Botanical Garden and several museums in the downtown area. The line will run from 5:30 am to 8:12 pm with 8-10 minutes between each bus.
 
All the buses cater to passengers in wheelchairs. Ten buses in the fleet will be installed the automatic ticket selling systems. Tickets cost VND 4,000 (USD 0.19) for the whole route or VND 90,000 for a monthly pass.
