HCMC welcomes 310,000 foreign tourists in January

According to the data provided by Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism, the city welcomes 310,000 foreign tourists, half of inbound tourists visiting Vietnam in January, 2012.  Of the figure, there are 250,000 arriving in the Southern hub of Vietnam by air.

 
As Tet 2012 falls on the last days of January, this month witnesses a large number of oversea Vietnamese returning the homeland for Tet celebration, recording around 600,000 arrivals at Tan Son Nhat Airport.
 
HCMC also welcomes one million domestic tourists in the first month of 2012. The city’s large-scale amusement parks like Suoi Tien, Dam Sen or famous historical sites such as Cu Chi Tunnels remains top favorite tourist attractions with dramatic increase in the number of tourists in January, especially  during Tet occasion.

Being known as the land of hot weather all year round, and home of modern entertainment complexes, Ho Chi Minh City keeps being one of Vietnam’s top tourist destinations. Positive data for HCMC’s tourism in the first month promises a golden year of tourism for the city.
