Egypt Air to open new Cairo Vietnam route

Representatives of the Egypt’s national airline carrier met with travel companies in Ho Chi Minh City on June 25 to discuss the launch of new flights from Hanoi and HCMC to the Egyptian capital of Cairo and vice versa.

Mr. Youssef Gad, the Regional Director of Egypt Air in Thailand and East Asia, said that Vietnam is one of the most popular destinations in the world and the carrier hopes to expand business to the country, making it the 7th market in Asia and 4th in Southeast Asia for the carrier. Vietnamese visitors will also be granted special visa-free access into Egypt.

Currently Vietnamese passengers have to take a Thai Airways flight to Thailand then fly directly from Bangkok to Cairo on the same day. However, due to increase in trade cooperation between Egypt and Vietnam, Egypt Air is planning direct flights from Cairo to Vietnam in the near future.

Egypt Air, based at Cairo International Airport, is one of the oldest airlines in the world. The national airline carrier of Egypt is already operating on 86 destination routes across the world.
