Famous “Nutcracker” in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time

Ho Chi Minh City Opera House has disclosed that the famous Ballet “Nutcracker” is going to hold in the theater at 8.00pm on Saturday, 12 November 2011, which makes it the first time ever for the city’s audience.

Ho Chi Minh City Opera House has announced that the enchanting ballet “Nutcracker” will be performed at the theater at 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025. This marks an exciting moment as it presents the beloved classic to audiences in the city.

The ballet is choreographed by Johanne Jakkelin Constant and is being brought to life by the HCMC Ballet and Symphony Orchestra. Every aspect of the ballet, from costumes to music, maintains its classical roots, promising a captivating performance that encapsulates the essence of the ballet's enchanting theme. While children are likely to be especially delighted by the show, art enthusiasts and fans of classical ballet can also look forward to a memorable experience.

“Nutcracker” is inspired by the fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” by author E.T.A. Hoffmann. The timeless score was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and has become one of the most cherished pieces in the classical repertoire.

There are three ticket price tiers: VND 700,000; 500,000; and 300,000 (approximately $30; $22; and $13). A discounted ticket price of 150,000 VND is available for students.
