Vietnam National University (Ho Chi Minh City), in addition to its counterpart in Hanoi, is regarded as two most crucial universities in Vietnam with top quality in studying and diversity in courses. This university was established in 1995 by rearranging 9 current universities in Ho Chi Minh City, and then re-organized again in 2001.
At present, Vietnam National University (Ho Chi Minh City) is not only a fundamental school to educate both undergraduate and post graduate students, but also a key science and societal center which is in charge of conducting research, adapting technology and assisting authorities in various aspects of economy and society.
This university is currently providing lesson to more than 36,000 students in 120 undergraduate courses, 91 postgraduate master courses and 91 doctorial courses. These are varied in different industries and areas from economy and technology to science, education and human science. Being responsible for teaching jobs at Vietnam National University (Ho Chi Minh City) are considerably standardized lecturing team with 190 professors and vice-professors, 470 doctors and 795 masters.
