Can Tho University is listed as one of the key universities in the South of Vietnam and also included in top universities in this country. This school was founded based on former University of Can Tho which was established by South Vietnam’ government in 1966, along with 4 other universities from Hue to Ho Chi Minh City. At first, Can Tho University had limited courses for student to choose, but it has developed rapidly to become one of the largest universities in the South with diverse options in various industries and societal aspects. They include 85 undergraduate courses, 28 master courses and 8 doctorial courses.

At present, Can Tho University is providing courses to more than 23,000 undergraduate students and 2,300 postgraduate students with massive rise in number annually. Programs in this university often last for 4 to 5 years in which core subjects are taught at the firsts three semesters (about 1.5 years), then specialized subjects for each streams are lessoned on the remained time of the courses. Quality of studying in Can Tho University can be considered to be identical to other top universities in Vietnam thanks to experienced and brilliant lecturers here who are always passionate and diligent with their teaching jobs.
