If you are looking for a break from the norm and a tasty, authentic restaurant that serves Indian cuisine, Mumtaz Indian Restaurant probably is the best fit for you. Mumtaz is a lovely restaurant with casual décor yet excellent food in the middle of the backpacker district. The staff is attentive without being intrusive and the food is served in a timely fashion. If you ask for spicy, you certainly will not be served anything less; they have excellent curries, kebabs and the soft and delicate tandooru chicken. The portions were of a good size, and importantly, the price is reasonable.
