The restaurant is located inside the heart of Hanoi Old Quarter, occupying a 300-year-old two-storey wooden house that promises a highly atmospheric and enjoyable environment.
Its antique architecture should be the most attractive feature of this restaurant with all the furniture made of wood, traditional antiquities and Hanoi’s scenes hanging along the wall. The only drawback of this ancient architecture is narrow space; however, this may attribute to create an authentic Vietnamese traditional atmosphere. While the first floor is more like a bar, the second floor is more eating area.
69 Restaurant focuses mainly on Vietnamese and Hanoian foods that the most famous dishes ones may taste here such as grilled fish mousse served on lemongrass sticks, or the green papaya and beef salad; Bun Bo Hue or any type of Pho; the special beef strips with lemon, chili and salt sauce is highly recommended since it really goes a treat with a cold beer.
Staffs of 69 are all English fluent and very dedicated; however, during crowed days they may not be as fast as normal. Dinners at 69 are chances to enjoy Ca Tru show – an intangible cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.
