Vietnam woman beauty through ancient fashion

Vietnamese women fashion has significantly changed in recent 100 years.

Vietnamese women fashion has significantly changed in recent 100 years. It is hard to meet an yếm đào (undergarment), an áo tứ thân (four-part dress) or a nón ba tầm (flat hat), the symbols of traditional beauty, even in remote rural places.

Though the beauty has belonged to the past, it still attracts international interests. Chinese Global Times (China) has a series of articles about lives of Vietnamese a hundred year ago, with many beautiful images of women in traditional clothes like yếm đào, áo tứ thân , váy đụp and nón quai thao.

“Vietnamese always greeted each other with appropriate gestures such as folding the arms (when meet older people), shaking hands or hugging, to show their respect. Their wearing style was simple, but at formal events, they were more detailed in choosing suits with vest for men and Ao Dai for women”, said the magazine.

Below are some interesting pictures of Vietnamese’s lives published by the newspaper, with many photos recalling the beauty of Vietnamese women at that time.
