The weather in Hanoi is so “nice” as it should be for Tet with grey sky, light rain and a little bit coldness. Light rain lasting for nearly whole day makes the city look like a charming girl sleeping softly in thin clouds. It also makes the border between sky and water surface in the Westlake fading away which offers tourists amazing view. 

It is very cool on Friday and Saturday with average temperature at 20 degree Celsius , and relatively warm on Sunday with day temperature is 23 degree Celsius . However, remember to put on scarf, warm clothes and wear gloves when going out for the Tet Eve (Sunday night) because the temperature drops down significantly to 13 degree Celsius . The New Year of Dragon and also a new week will start with a wonderful day with rather cold but sunny weather.

Da Nang

 

In contrast to Hanoi, the coastal city of Da Nang is going through the last three days of the Cat year with warm and sunny weather, and welcomes the New Year with light rains. Temperature level seems to have no change in three consecutive days, and keep fluctuating between 20 degree Celsius  and 27 degree Celsius . Warm weather without rain enables both locals and travelers to spend more time shopping, preparation for the Tet. Meanwhile, a little rain on the first day of the Dragon Year (Monday) makes the trip to pagoda at the beginning of Lunar New Year more poetic.

Ho Chi Minh City

 

It is rather hot and dry in the southern metropolis of Vietnam these days with relatively high temperature ranging from 21 degree Celsius to 34 degree Celsius , and low humidity of 58%. Sunshine and blooming golden apricots colorizes all streets and seem to add more joy to the festive atmosphere. The Tet Eve is anticipated to be rainy that tourists are advised to bring along umbrella and raincoat when going out for Tet celebration. Like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City welcomes the New Year with sunny weather. However, tourists should apply moisture lotion and bring along hat or umbrella when getting down the street on the hot and dry Monday.
