The extended weekend will have a rocky start with partly cloudy Saturday and Sunday with an isolated thunderstorm possible after midnight. Despite chance of rain at 30%, treat yourself with numerous intriguing cultural events taking place at the Vietnam Museum of Culture & Arts. Luckily Monday and Tuesday will kick in with plenty of sun and clear sky suitable for outdoor activities.

Da Nang

The central city will experience variable clouds with thunderstorms on Friday, especially in the evening, followed by partial clearing on Saturday. The highly anticipated event Da Nang International Fireworks Competition will kick off neatly on Sunday evening with brilliantly clear sky and wrap up on Monday evening with considerable cloudiness and chance of storm. Bring a hoodie and umbrella in order not to spoil your enjoyment of the spectacular fireworks.

Ho Chi Minh City

The weather forecast doesn’t bode well for Ho Chi Minh city this weekend. From Friday to Sunday, there are variable clouds and scattered thunderstorms, with chance of rain up to 60%. However, don’t let the rainy season spoil your holiday. The hustle and bustle city is packed full of entertaining events on offer, from fireworks to theme parks to exhibitions at Sàn Art, so be sure to bring a raincoat or umbrella.

1. More international airlines to fly to Vietnam

Another five international air corporation, including Air Hong Kong (Hongkong), Jeju Air (South Korea), Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudi Arabia), United Airlines (US) and Air China Cargo (China), have joined team of global airlines who fly regularly to Vietnam. The Singaporean Silk Air is also conducting a research on feasibility of opening routes to Vietnam this year.

On the other hand, Vietnam authorities have also implemented some projects on enhancing ability of national aviation industry as a response to appearance of more and more international airlines. One of the largest projects is the plan to improve both infrastructure and services of Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi), Cam Ranh International Airport (Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa) and Danang Airport (Danang). In addition, new international airport name Long Thanh is projected to be built in Dong Nai to serve demand of travelers and cargo visiting this area.

2. 6th CAMA Festival to storm American Club in Hanoi

CAMA Festival, an annual music event in Hanoi, is planned to be taken place at the American Club (19-21 Hai Ba Trung) on Saturday 2 June. Like previous times, the festival is expected to bring a perfectly uproarious of music in different genres, such as rock, reggae, electro or hip hop, with participation of many talented music performers all over the world, including Turbo Goth (Philippine), Akil the MC, MC Hydrophonics and DJ Tech 12.

3. “Black Voices” band to perform in Hanoi this May

Famous UK band “Black voices” is preparing for their first show in Vietnam, which is held in Hanoi Opera House at 8.00pm, Monday 21 May. A strange atmosphere of harmonious combination of folk and contemporary music and different genres of music, from Jazz, reggae to modern Pop or even church song are expected. Tickets to the show are sold at Hanoi Opera House with various fares from VND 50,000 to 500,000.

4. Photo exhibition of charming Vietnam to be held in the US

From 25 to 28 April, an exhibition of photo taken from new photo book named “Charming Vietnam” is organized in the US by Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affair and Vietnam Consulate General in Houston (Texas). These photos reflect spectacular beauty of Vietnam in different aspects, from natural sceneries to people daily lives, and through every picture, a new view about poetic S-shaped is formed on the mind of guests.
