Vietnam and Sri Lanka seek corporation in tourism development

On June 8 2012, there is going to be a group of Vietnam’s largest travel agencies conferences with more than 150 partners in Colombo City (Sri Lanka) to promote tourism in Vietnam, as well as seeks for potential to cooperate in the future in tourism industry between the two countries. The meeting was hosted by Vietnamese Embassy in Sri Lanka, with support from Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (AITA).

Speaking at the meeting, both representatives from Vietnam and Sri Lanka has expressed their optimism in the future link between tourism development and their intention to put it in formal business. While AITA Vice President U. Silva describes Vietnam as a potential markets for tourism industry and called upon travel agents in Sri Lanka to set up corporation with Vietnam’s travel companies, Vietnam’s Ambassador in Sri Lanka Ton Sinh Thanh appreciates this conference as a great opportunity for both sides to understand more deeply each other’s market and other related aspects that influence tourism industry such as culture, history, landscape and people.

Mr. Ton Sinh Thanh also reveals a ten-day trip in this August to Vietnam for 15 representatives of Sri Lanka travel agents and media channels to better learn about current situation and potential of Vietnam tourism market.

Sri Lanka is one of the most fundamental commercial partners of Vietnam in West Asia in various fields, including agriculture, industry and national defense. In the future, authorities from both Vietnam and Sri Lanka has planned to develop a larger and more comprehensive relationship between two countries , particularly in term of education, health care and tourism as well.
