The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines has planned to create a direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Jakarta (Indonesia). That will make Vietnam Airline the second air corporation to exploit route between this two destinations, after the international airline AirAsia.

The route is about to be launched this month, however it had been postponed to December 2, with 4 flights a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

This is considered a great opportunity for tourism sectors in Vietnam to exploit the potential market in Indonesia and other nearby countries, as well as a motivation to other commercial and diplomatic activities between the two nations.

Vietnam has recently become a popular destination for Indonesian travelers to visit. Generally, tourists from this country spend 4 or 5 days tour to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, or other attractive destinations such as Ha Long Bay.
