Two Étoile from Opera de Paris Ballet performs at Hanoi Opera House

Ballet lovers in Hanoi are given chances to appreciate a featured artistic program organized by Vietnam Opera Ballet, associated with L’Espace Hanoi and Embassy of France in Vietnam at Hanoi Opera House at 8.00pm on 10 October.

Ballet lovers in Hanoi are given chances to appreciate a featured artistic program organized by Vietnam Opera Ballet, associated with L’Espace Hanoi and Embassy of France in Vietnam at Hanoi Opera House at 8.00pm on 10 October.

Excerpts from various popular ballet masterpieces such as Diane Et Actéon, Raymonda and the special “Đám cưới của Mỵ Châu” (My Chau’s wedding”) from the famous ballet play “Mối tình thành cổ”, which had been performed in Vietnam in the occasion of 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi celebration.

All performances on this show are staged by choreographer Jean-Paul Gravier and Bertrand d’Art, Director of National du Rhin Ballet. The participation of the artists from Vietnam Opera Ballet in the performance of Dorothee Gibert and Stephane Bullion from Opera de Paris Ballet is expected to be an interesting interaction.

Dorothee Gibert and Stephane Bullion are two ballet stars from Opera de Paris Ballet, having become famous in French Ballet since they were very young. They joined Opera de Paris Ballet at the age of 17. Stephane Bullion became the theater’s Étoile in 2010 while Dorothee Gibert reached Étoile rank in 2007, when she was only 24 years old. (Étoile is the highest rank of Opera de Paris Ballet for its performers)

The cooperator of the performance, Vietnam Opera Ballet, was established in 1959 with main function to perform ballet and develop this artistic genre in Vietnam. Vietnam Opera Ballet has brought various international famous ballet plays such as Les Sylphides, Giselle and Romeo and Juliet to Vietnamese audiences, as well as staged many plays with unique Vietnamese feature or cooperating projects with international choreographers.
