The plan consists of various actions, including one crucial part focusing on diversifying tourism products, such as ecological tourism or shopping tourism. Human resource is another aspect to be significantly invested with more professional training courses for tourism suppliers.
Being located in the Mekong River Delta region, Soc Trang Province possesses many advantages to develop a diverse tourism industry with not only magnificent landscape and rich nature but also high cultural and historical values. In the first five months of 2012, the total number of visitors to Soc Trang was 50,749, reaching 46% against the yearly plan, an increase of 14.3% over the same period last year. International arrivals were 3,429, reaching 40% of the yearly plan, an increase of 28% compared to the same period in 2011.
