National Tourism Year – Hue 2012 to kick off

The central province of Thua Thien Hue is now ready to host the National Tourism Year 2012 for the North Central Coast Region, and the 7th Hue Festival also. As planned, 20 events, including 11 national and 9 provincial will be taking place in the ancient capital throughout the year to promote the country’s tourism, and highlight the region’s attractiveness in particular.

Starting the National Tourism Year 2012, the province has successfully organized some cultural and artistic programs like “A Hue Night in the South” and “Hue's Love”, and participated in some international fairs in Japan, China, and Thailand to make it known about this much awaited event of the year in Hue.

As part of its tourist attractiveness, the daily “Hue Night Street” was opened on January 2nd, 2012 and expected to add more joy to the city’s night life with food and entertainment activities.

A portal of the National Tourism Year 2012 has been put into operation in Vietnamese, English, and French to keep tourists up to date with the latest tourism news and events throughout the year. A website on this topic in Japanese has been recently created also.

Taking advantage of its long lasting tradtition, the province of Hue continues to focus on developing cultural tourist products such as tours to craft villages, garden houses, lagoons, and countryside markets. Besides, Hue offers more tours to eco-tourist sites and promotes itself as a good destination for MICE tourism (Incorporate meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions).

48 infrastructure projects for tourism development with the total capital up to 50 trillion VND are being implementing soon to push the city’s MICE tourism forward.
