Miss Earth 2012 back to Vietnam

After the beautifully choreographed, highly acclaimed success at Nha Trang in 2010, Miss Earth pageant contest will return to Vietnam central coast in 2012, this time at Ninh Thuan – another spectacle of Earth’s natural beauty.

After the beautifully choreographed, highly acclaimed success in Nha Trang in 2010, Miss Earth pageant contest will return to Vietnam central coast in 2012, this time in Ninh Thuan – another spectacle of Earth’s natural beauty.

The 2011 contest was scheduled for Thailand, but the inability of the local government to deal with notorious flood had prevented the event from taking place. The pageant was moved back to its homeland Philippines, much to the disappointment of the Thais, and in an ironical twist to the contest’s goal of promoting environmental awareness.

Miss Ecuador Olga Alava scored the top goal on December 3rd, while Vietnam’s contestant Phan Thi Mo did not make the cut 16 at Manila this year. In 2010, the lovely Luu Thi Diem Huong was among the 5 most beautiful. Organizers for the 2012 event are hoping to build what they claim “the best stage of its kind” in SE Asia.

Recently, there has been a surge in the number of beauty pageants in Vietnam and some observers are claiming the nation’s populace is getting bored and confused of all the so-and-so titles. Many sure hoped Ninh Thuan would be able to replicate the astounding success of Nha Trang 2010.
