Japanese cuisine to be lectured with demonstrations in Hanoi

Information from the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam says lectures and demonstrations on Japanese food are taking place on 17 November 2011 at Fortuna Hotel, 6B Lang Ha, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.

Information from the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam says lectures and demonstrations on Japanese food are taking place on 17 November 2011 at Fortuna Hotel, 6B Lang Ha, Ba Dinh, Hanoi. Japanese cuisine, which is fancied by many young people in Vietnam, is promising an exciting introduction on its both distinctive food and unique culture related.

Takako Fujita, Headmaster of Japanese Cooking School Fujita will start the event with a lecture on Japanese food culture and she herself afterward demonstrates the country rich culture by her 3 dishes Oshi-zushi (Pressed sushi), the Soup The Sunrise on New Year’s Day and Ae-maze (a vegetarian food).

“The history of Tempura, food cultures in Japan and Vietnam” is another lecture by Kojiro Kobayashi, the Director of Kyy restaurant. Correlative performances by the chef of the restaurant on Tempura (deep fried fish and vegetable) and Teuchi-udon (homemade wheat noodles) are the most exciting to be expected.

Under the co-organization of the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam and Kyy restaurant, the event is expected to bring about both solemn and friendly atmosphere to the participants.

Japan's unique culture is intentionally popularized by Japan government through diversified aspects, from fashion to food culture. Vietnamese has been witnessing numerous Japanese events and being always excitingly expecting more.
