Hoi An has started planning for a new outdoor theater and a guest center with the total investment reaching VND15 billion (US$750,000).

Based on the proposal, this outdoor theater is expected to have a unique design with modern appearance mixed with traditional architecture. The capacity of this theater is about 3,000 seats, with 600m2 performing stages. After finishing, it will be used as the main place for concerts and art shows in the town.

The local authority expects that these two new constructions can meet the requirement of the development for modern tourism industry in Hoi An, and attract more travelers to the destination, which has already been the most popular tourism destinations in the central area of Vietnam.

Hoi An has high values in cultural and historical tourism, yet there is a lack of infrastructure for entertainment and art performing here, causing a big number of travelers not to return for second visit.
