Hanoi painters bring “dreams” to Canada
The exhibition titled “Hanoi Dreams”, taking place at Art Square Gallery, 334 Dundas Street West, Toronto, from November 22th to December 5th, 2011 is expected to bring the color of Vietnamese contemporary fine arts to international friends.
The exhibition titled “Hanoi Dreams”, taking place at Art Square Gallery, 334 Dundas Street West, Toronto, from November 22th to December 5th, 2011 is expected to bring the color of Vietnamese contemporary fine arts to international friends.
The exhibition displays artworks of five emerging painters from Hanoi including Ngo Van Sac, Vu Huong Quynh, Nguyen Minh Thanh, Nguyen Quang Minh and Trinh Quoc Chien.
Five painters express different perspectives about dreams through a number of pictures in different drawing styles. While emotional faces together with cool and dark colors make “dreams” of Ngo Van Sac seems to be thoughtful, bright colors and “childlike” drawing style in Nguyen Quang Minh’s pictures bring about sweet and pure dreams. Visitors can chill out when contemplating faces with closed eyes in pictures of Nguyen Minh Thanh, or lost in the world of thoughts and exceptional emotions when appreciating pictures of Vu Huong Quynh or Trinh Quoc Chien.
The exhibition is held by The East Gallery, an organization dedicated to keep art lovers and Canadian in particular up-to-date with the latest trends and happenings in the contemporary Asian art world through a wide range of events such as painting exhibition, book readings or film nights.
