A grand music show featuring opera and classical music performed by leading artists from Korea is taking place at Hanoi Opera House on Sunday, December 17th, 2011.

The concert features both famous Korean and international operas like “The Rivers of My Mind” by Lee Su In, “New Arirang” by Kim Dong Jin, “Nessun Dorma” from Opera “Turandot” by Puccini, and “Italian Street Song” by V. Herbert. At the heart of the concert are masterpieces of classical music like Concerto for Two Violins in D mirror BWV1043 by J. Bach, Concert for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in F minor, and Op. 2 by F. Chopin.

There is a number of the most talented Korean (violin soloist Jae Jin Park, tenor Chang Jin Gyu, or soprano Chang Eun Yong) and Vietnamese artists (pianist Tam Ngoc, violinist Minh Chinh), under the lead of Korean conductor Lim Jun Oh.

Opera, having originated and achieving most prestigious status in Europe, remains unpopular in Vietnam. This concert is another chance for both locals and foreign visitors who want a bite of this “aristocratic” art.

Tickets are VND200, 000 to VND400, 000, and available at Hanoi Opera House (No. 1 Trang Tien Street).
