To celebrate the 17th Vietnam Film Festival, Vietnam Department of Cinema and National Cinema Center will co-host a movie week from December 2nd to 8th, 2011. The movie week presents 17 out of 108 films competing in the 17th Vietnam Film Festival to the public, and invitation tickets can be collected at the first floor of National Cinema Center, 87 Lang Ha Street, Hanoi.

The recently completed film “Mùi Cỏ Cháy” (The Smell of Burned Grass) is chosen as the first screened in the movie week. The film, which is based on the diaries of war martyrs like Nguyen Van Thac, Dang Thuy Tram and Hoang Thuong Lan, reflects the notorious war in a lively way to audiences, especially foreigners and Vietnamese who were born after the war.  “Mùi Cỏ Cháy” is also a tribute to heroic Vietnamese youth who devoted their lives to the revolution during the American resistance war.
