Foreign artists to make bolder presence in Hue Festival 2012

As its popularity grows, the annual Hue Festival of 2012 will kick off with a grand opening ceremony on April 7th, this time with the participation of more than 40 international fine-art groups from 30 different countries. 

Hue Festival 2012 is held under the main theme of "Cultural Heritage combined with Economic Development and International Integration”, which explains the wider profile of international groups, although officials promise there will be no shortage of indigenous activity and celebration.
 
One of the major foreign players in this year has to be Russia. In light of the recent mishap with her tourists due to the collapse of Lanta Tour Co., the Russian authority is seeking to assure that Vietnam remains a top outbound destination for the country’s tourism industry. In speaking with Hue’s authority, Russian consul general Yury B. Masteriy has promised to work with travel companies to attract more Russian tourists to Hue Festival 2012. Russia will also be sending two delegations to the festival this year.
 
 
Hue Festival is a special cultural event in this city every year
 
With its historical influence and cultural traditions, Hue is already a major attraction for tourists in Vietnam. City’s officials hope that its unique profile will receive a significant boost through this year’s festival and claim a permanent bright spot in the tourism map of the globe.
