Famous “Nutcracker” in Ho Chi Minh City for the first time

Ho Chi Minh City Opera House has disclosed that the famous ballet “Nutcracker” is going to be held in the theater at 8.00pm on Saturday, 12 November 2011, which makes it the first time ever for the city’s audience.

The ballet is choreographed by Johanne Jakkelin Constant and brought to audience by HCMC Ballet and Symphony Orchestra. All aspects of the ballet including costume, music and screen remain classical in nature, which promise a fully original performance under the very atmosphere of the ballet’s theme. Children might be more delighted with the show, but art lovers, especially fans of classical ballet, should also expect a great show.

“Nutcracker” was inspired by a fairy tale named “The Nutcraker and the Mouse King” of author E.T.A Hoffman. It was melodized by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, and become one of the most popular compositions of the legendary composer.
