Dominante, one of the most renowned mixed choirs in Finland is giving a concert at Hanoi’s Youth Theater on March 6th, 2012 as part of the choir’s Asian tour this year.
The choir, which is famous for its diverse repertory, from traditional to ultramodern choral music, from musicals to orchestral works, is expected to give Hanoi audience a wonderful musical show.
Being founded in 1975 as a student choir of Helsinki University of Technology, today, Dominante is a great choir with members from Aalto University, the University of Helsinki and Sibelius Academy.
The Finnish Choir has performed and recorded extensively for over 30 years, not only in Finland, but other corners of the world as well. They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall of London with Lahti Symphony Orchestra and OsmoVänskä as part of BBC Proms festival in 2007, and worked with prestigious orchestras such as Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonia, and Finnish National Opera.

Being conducted by artistic director Seppo Murto, one of the most admirable organists and choir leaders in Finland since 1981, the choir has won prestigious prizes like the Record of the Year award from Finnish Choral Director’s Association in 2009.
