Africa in the eyes of most people in other continentals is the land of diseases, poverty, starvation and extreme weather of mostly burning sunshine. Yet, the more beautiful yet lesser-known side of the continent is as a home of extremely rich culture of numerous races and minority groups, who still conserve their uniquely ancient tradition.
Cultural center of France in Hanoi - L’Espace, one of the most active international centers in Vietnam in creating cultural exchange events between Vietnam, France and other countries is bringing a hot Africa to Vietnam by an exhibition name “Being human”, which is expected to be unbelievably vivid.
The exhibition aims to provide a closer sight to audiences in Vietnam on culture of Africa, concentrating on ritual tradition of minor communities in this “Black Continentals”. This is the first time ever an expo on African culture has been held in Hanoi, with the mixture of sounds, visual materials such as videos and big-size photos, which create a truly African habitants right in the heart of Hanoi.
This exhibition is opened at L’Espace at 6.00pm on 16 November and lasts until 11 December 2011. It is also exposed in Vietnam Museum of Ethnology from April to September next year and free entrance is available for everyone.
