Etihad Airways to operate route Ho Chi Minh City - UAE

A direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Abu Dhabi (UAE) is planned to be open from October 2013 by Etihad Airways, said the airline’s Chairman and CEO James Hogan.

A direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and Abu Dhabi (UAE) is planned to be open from October 2013 by Etihad Airways, said the airline’s Chairman and CEO James Hogan.

The air route is expected to strengthen the relation of the two cities and the two countries in various aspects, especially commerce and tourism.

James Hogan further reveals that Airbus A330 airplane will be used for this route. At the very first time, all fights take off daily from HCMC at 8.15 am and lands on Abu Dhabi seven hours later. A plan to develop similar air route between Hanoi and UAE is also under preparation, which is expected to launch not long after HCMC – Abu Dhabi route.

HCMC is the 6th destinations in Southeast Asia of Etihad Airways. This Vietnam – route connecting is considered another strong voice to the claim of attractiveness from Asian cities in term of tourism and trade.
