In an effort to expand business in Southeast Asia, Emirates Airline, a leading international carrier of the United Arab Emirates is operating daily direct flights route Dubai - Ho Chi Minh, starting on June 4th, 2012. As planned, this is the eighth international flight operated by Emirates Airline in 2012, and Ho Chi Minh City will be the 124th destination among 68 countries served by this carrier.
Emirates states that the Airbus A330-200 with 27 business and 251 economy seats is projected to be used for the route Dubai – Ho Chi Minh City. As scheduled, the aircraft from Dubai arrives at Ho Chi Minh City at 7:20 pm, then departing to Dubai at 8:50 pm.

The new route Dubai - HCMC is expected to offer tourists in the Middle East easier access to Vietnam and vice versa, and makes Emirates become the second airline in the Middle East operating direct flight to Vietnam after Qatar Airways. At present, Qatar is offering daily flight route Doha – Ho Chi Minh City and Doha – Hanoi with transit point in Bangkok (Thailand).
