Diwali Festival to sparkle Hanoi in late October
The Indian Business Chamber (Incham) recently announced that one of the most important festivals in India name “Diwali” (Festival of Lights) will be celebrated in Hanoi this year by the chamber in cooperation wit the Indian Embassy and the Indian people living in this city.
This cultural event is held from 5.00 to 23.00 on 29 October at Van Ho Exhibition Center, including blazing-up dancing, music performances, traditional games, fashion shows and lucky draws that represent the unique Indian culture. In addition, beverage and handicraft kiosks will be available to serve guests with purely Indian products.
Diwali is regarded as one of the most important and splendid festivals in Indian culture and Nepalese community. It is also called “Festival of Lights” because on this occasion, people tend to light up various lamps to celebrate the victory of Krishna, the God represents goodness and Narakasura, a villain in Indian legend. Diwali festival has been organized in Hanoi in recent years with increasing number of participants, not only Indian but many others who are interested in learning about Indian culture as well.
Ticket are sold at Incham Office (Heritage Hotel, 625 De La Thanh Street) from 15th October with early bird price at VND 99,000 (around USD5) and VND149,000 (USD 7.5) at door. More information about the event and ticket purchase, please contact Incham Hanoi.
